FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before applying. Still have questions? Reach out — we're happy to help.

Is this a paid internship?

This is a self-sponsored professional Fellow — you invest in your own growth and development. While self-sponsored, fellows receive compensation for meaningful work contributions. Think of it like a partially subsidised bootcamp that pays you while you learn.

Can I apply if I am still a student?

Yes! Final-year undergraduate students are eligible. You must be able to commit full-time (on-site in Yaoundé) for the entire 4-month duration starting a week after you apply.

What is the age eligibility for the program?

The program is open to applicants between the ages of 18 and 30 years old. This ensures the Fellow remains focused on early-career development and young professional growth.

Do I need to be bilingual (English & French)?

Bilingualism is a significant advantage given our West African mission, but it is not a strict requirement. Strong communication skills in at least one language (English preferred) are essential.

Can I apply for more than one track?

No. You must submit one application only, selecting your most preferred track. Submitting two or more applications will automatically disqualify you from the program.

Where is the internship located?

The program is fully on-site in Yaoundé, Cameroon — specifically at Carrefour Biyem Assi / Douala Carrefour Rail KM 5. Remote participation is not available for this cohort.

What documents do I need to apply?

You will need to prepare:

  • A comprehensive CV/Resume (PDF or Word)
  • A cover/motivation letter
  • Two referee contacts (name + email)
  • Your motivation statement (150–200 words, filled in the form)
  • Optional: Portfolio, GitHub, or LinkedIn profile links
When will I hear back after applying?

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Shortlisted candidates will receive assignment instructions within two weeks of the application deadline. Interviews are scheduled On a Rolling Basis.

Ready to Begin Your Journey?

The Impact Fellow Internship Program is more than an internship — it's a launchpad for your career in tech, social innovation, and entrepreneurship. Applications close On a Rolling Basis. Don't miss Cohort 3.
